UnpluggedAmber and Yodiour life - in a nutshell

We’ve been married almost ten years. Weird, because I still feel like a little kid. He’ll never let me need for anything. Yodi’s the better cook. He could have been a massage therapist.  Yodi’s a dad. A real, roll around on the floor, read bedtime books, cook dinner and play tea party kind of dad. He often sleeps on the floor of the kids’ room or falls asleep in their bed while comforting them to sleep. Two weeks ago when the stomach flu hit the house, our 4 year old Hazel woke up vomiting and was scared and crying. I drew a warm bath to put her in and help wash some of the yuck out of her hair. Yodi felt sorry for her, and got down to his underoos and climbed in – to a pukey chunk filled bath tub and played with her. I mean … c’mon!

I’ve seen him literally give the shirt off his back to a stranger. He’s brought a few home in our lifetime. That’s a whole other story.

He builds things. He builds tree houses, and rebuilds truck motors, and scales roofs to put shingles on. Yeah – he’s a manly man! He also smells fantastic – and takes a hell of a lot of cool photos. Did I mention he is incredibly handsome?

Yodi loves people. He loves his family. He loves and appreciates people for their differences. We have someone coming to dinner this week I’ve never met. It’s not the first time, nor will it be the last. People love Yodi, they’re drawn to him.

Then there’s me (Amber). I’m the ironic one. I’m a planner by nature, but can’t get the kids to school on time… EVER. I guess I would say I am eclectic. My taste in clothes, the way our home is setup, the way I photograph. I mix the old with the new. I love thrift stores, but spare no expense when it comes to shoes or beauty products. I own a dozen pairs of designer jeans, but I’ve rocked the same bathrobe for 15 years.

I met Yodi in my early twenties. He was a small town Nevada desert boy, and I was a Seattle raised northwest girl. We’re like oil and water, but in a good way. He doesn’t drink. I love my wine. He sings in the morning, I can’t function for an hour at least. Yodi grew up hunting in the desert (I fear guns). I grew up fishing in the Pacific Northwest. We do neither anymore, but hey, that’s life.

We have three children. We have a beloved ‘UGLY DOG’ (look it up) who I think is the handsomest pup ever.

In our free time, (ha that’s funny) we are working on our cabin in the cascade mountains, while the kids are repelling down a muddy cliff; or running around on the beach somewhere throwing seaweed at each other.

If you have a love for life, and want someone to capture yours… we would love to meet you.

Cheers,

Amber and Yodi
