When you look through one of my wedding galleries, it is important to me that you see a story, and see the day for what it really was. The ceremony is important, yes, but the day is really about all the people, their spirit on that day, the laughter, tears, and excitement. The labors of love that go into a wedding are so much a part of the story, as much as the vows. Leah and Nate’s wedding was no different. I’m proud to showcase their classic Bend Oregon wedding.

Nate proposed to Leah at the Pine Ridge Inn in Bend Oregon. A rustic little resort tucked along the Deschutes river, this place was perfect for the girls to get ready the day of the wedding. Leah’s bridesmaids were amazingly kind and funny. I don’t usually cry on wedding days, but they had me going hours before the ceremony with their prayers for Leah and Nate, and their remembrance of her father. Lots of love in that room.

Nate and the guys were getting ready at Widgi Creek, a gorgeous golf course in Bend. The whole place smelled of pine and sage, ahhhh it was delightful. Nate’s groomsmen came from around the country to stand by his side. Army brothers who had a lot of love and loyalty to one another,  it was a great thing to witness.

I love nothing more than a wedding where  families (with children) are joined together. It shows true commitment and devotion. Leah’s daughter Lucy already calls Nate her daddy, and he is rather smitten with her I might say. During the ceremony he also pulled her onto his knee and vowed to always take care of her and love and protect her (and he gave her a ring).

Leah’s late father could not be there with her on this big day, but his spirit was. Leah had his photograph dangling from her bouquet… that’s something I’ll never forget.
